About Us – Global Youth Coalition (GYC) & the Avocado Framework

Who we are

The Global Youth Coalition (GYC) is a youth-led network of over 1 million changemakers across 13+ countries.

We are not lobbyists. We are not a PR campaign. We are a generation building bridges between governments, private sector, Indigenous leadership, and communities.

Our projects have trained thousands of young leaders, restored ecosystems, shaped UN negotiations, and built living strategies like the Avocado Framework — a youth-rooted path for climate harmony where courage becomes action, and action becomes a future worth inheriting.

Why we sail

We are sailing to COP30 because flying is not enough.

Sailing is:

This journey is not leisure. It is a mission. By crossing the Atlantic together, we bring the Avocado Framework into circulation both as policy (shared with delegations) and as lived action (collected from communities on the way).

If we do not sail, we risk being trapped inside the same policy bubble — invisible to the wider public. Sailing makes noise. Sailing makes headlines. Sailing makes the people talk.

Our sail was meant to cross the Atlantic. That crossing will still happen in the future. But today, reality makes us sharper. We land in Lisbon, where the journey transforms into a private gathering: a circle of thirty leaders shaping what sails into Brazil and COP30.

Lisbon

Lisbon is the harbor.

Here, the wave lands. Thirty people will board, not for leisure, but for impact. Together, we pre-launch UON — the tool to turn the Avocado Framework into tangible funding outside negotiations — and align our sails before Brazil.

Why it matters

Climate talks are messy. Corporations greenwash, politicians stall. We refuse to let that stop us.

The Lisbon gathering is our answer: not another stage, not another panel, but a private convergence where those with capital and courage decide if they will enable solutions — or watch history move without them.

The Avocado Framework

The Avocado Framework represents a holistic approach to climate action, combining policy innovation with grassroots mobilization. It's designed to bridge the gap between international negotiations and local action, ensuring that climate solutions are both ambitious and achievable.

The Avocado Framework is built on three core pillars:

  • CET (Clean Energy Transition): Accelerating the shift to renewable energy systems
  • NBS (Nature-Based Solutions): Protecting and restoring ecosystems
  • LD (Loss & Damage): Empowering communities affected by climate related disasters

The avocado represents our approach:

  • Seed: The core vision and principles
  • Flesh: The practical solutions and actions
  • Skin: The protective framework and governance
  • Whole Fruit: The complete, integrated approach

Joining the Avocado Framework means committing to:

  • Participating in youth-led climate solutions
  • Supporting local and global climate action
  • Building bridges between different stakeholders
  • Creating lasting, systemic change

The Avocado Framework is powered by:

  • Youth leaders and activists worldwide
  • Indigenous communities and knowledge holders
  • Policy makers and government representatives
  • Private sector partners and investors
  • Academic institutions and researchers

Funding comes through Uon.Earth, our innovative financing platform that connects climate projects with global investors. This ensures sustainable, long-term support for youth-led climate initiatives.

In 10 years, we envision:

  • A global network of youth-led climate solutions
  • Systemic policy changes across all sectors
  • Restored ecosystems and thriving communities
  • A just transition to clean energy worldwide
  • Youth leadership at all levels of decision-making

We sail to COP30 because:

  • It demonstrates our commitment to climate action
  • It creates visibility for youth-led solutions
  • It connects communities along the journey
  • It shows that change requires bold action
  • It brings the Avocado Framework to global attention

You can start by:

  • Learning about the Avocado Framework
  • Connecting with local youth climate groups
  • Supporting climate initiatives in your community
  • Engaging with policy makers and leaders
  • Sharing your ideas and solutions

Thirty seats. By invitation only.

Not charity, not spectacle. A network of status and purpose, where those who enter weave their name into history.
